Little Flower

Oh Baby Hana you have me under your spell... Born to a Japanese father and American mother, little Hana is just about the cutest thing you have ever seen, with a head of hair never seen before on a 3 month old!
Hana tried really hard to keep herself propped up this morning, and kept us laughing with her giggles and coos. What a sweet little flower she is. (Hana, means flower in Japanese, very fitting don't you think?)

Milestone session today!

Alex and Allison came to the studio for a session today and we had a lot of fun. Big news today for Alex- he rolled over all by himself for the first time while I was shooting away- and I was there to get it on film, what fun! It was amazing! As you can see from the expression on his face, he was trying very hard- good job buddy! We had a great time, and I had to keep myself from pinching those cheeks grandma style. Ooooh it was so hard not to :)

Knock me out with a feather

Don't let those big brown eyes fool you- this little pumpkin is the most wiggly, giggly and active kid I have ever met. It always takes my breath away when she stops for a moment and just sits still, because her inner grace really comes through. This is one of my favs from a recent session. Can you believe she is only a first grader? I love the serious shots of her because they let me glimpse into her future as a young woman. It's my mommy time travel.

Pitchfork

I have a ton of pictures from the Pitchfork Music Festival last year, but I really only wanted to post a few tonight. The kids came with us this time, and so I was able to snap a few of Les and Arch and Noah in the VIP area. Because you know- we are Very Important People.

See how my garden grows

I love plants and flowers! And I love taking pictures of them- they stay nice and still for me, and I don't have to make them laugh :) These guys are all from my yard. My favs are the red ones I did up all vintagey. What I really I need to do is get my hands on some old 70's film! Maybe it is time for a little yard sale action?

A Birth

My good friend Autumn graciously invited me to the home birth of her third child. I feel immensely privileged to have been able to witness the live birth of a child. Autumn has always had natural labor (what a solid choice!) but this was her first water birth. The lights were low in the house and I was shaking in my boots and crying my eyes out, but I managed to get a few shots in. Didn't bring the tripod, and I figured flash would disturb the baby so please excuse the soft handheld look- hey I like it better that way anyhow, more ethereal- like the experience.

What a model she is!

Good friend of mine and fab artist Leslie Hamer of Unlesssomeonelikeyou Designs is such a doll and a patient model. Until very recently she and I shared a workspace and I would kidnap her from time to time to take photos of her. We had fun as I climbed on top of banisters, stood on crates, and moved endless reflectors around her body all in the name of studying light. I have included some of the more recent images of her just for fun. She is a good sport. Thanks Leslie!

My Main Sqweezies

My little sweetie muffin L-Boogie loves having her picture taken, and it's even more fun when our main man gets in on the action! How can you not fall in love with them? They are too Cute!

Europe

My Husband and I went to Europe and boy was it fun! Our little lady L-Boogie was on a trip to visit family out of state, so we decided to go hostel hopping through Eastern Europe. I finally had a chance to get the pictures onto the computer today, so here you go.. have a looksy. I Highly recommend visiting Croatia if you ever have the chance. I have included only a few pics of that lovely country-(nice recovery after the ravages of war)
The 10 hour standing room bus ride down the coast of Croatia to Dubrovnik was very worth it (even if the Irish girls sitting behind me did puke almost the whole way there). Stealing sheets from a hostel and making a tent out of them in the middle of Plitvice National Park was epic/freezing. Our all time fav city we visited was Zadar. Best. Sunsets. Ever.

Art Work

Hi there! I have been very busy at work these days, doing this-so I haven't had much time to work on my artsy stuff- but I had the day off today and had a chance to get my images uploaded, thought I would share some of my more recent photography and art. Hope you enjoy! I am getting prints made for my Etsy shop (Under Construction currently) so they will be for sale soon.
